The management of Wellington Park involves a co-operative approach between various land owning and management agencies and the community to ensure the natural and cultural values of the Park are preserved and enhanced.
The Wellington Park Management Trust is the management authority for the Park, and has the responsibility for preparing and implementing the various strategic planning and development control instruments used to guide the management of the reserve.
The Trust has recently endorsed a Strategic Plan to guide its corporate management practices through to 2010. The plan includes Vision and Mission statements for the Trust's management of the Park, along with Organisational Values, Goals and Strategies that guide the implementation of the Vision.
Vision
For Wellington Park to be a special place enjoyed by all for its prominent landscape, natural and cultural diversity, and community value.
Mission
To preserve the natural, cultural, recreational, tourism and drinking water qualities of Wellington Park for their own value and for the safe enjoyment of all people.
This will be achieved through outstanding management, sympathetic development and a co-operative relationship with our communities.
The Wellington Park Office is located at the Hobart City Council, however the Trust has established its own range of policies and procedures based upon the needs of the community and its obligations under the Wellington Park Act 1993.
Hard copies of all Wellington Park Management Trust publications, policies and management plans are available from the Manager.
