Permits are required for recreational access involving horse riding and four-wheel driving, and for any activity that is beyond that of normal Park use as specified in the Wellington Park Management Plan 2005. Permits are also required for any activities involving the opening of gates and barriers within the Park.
Horse Riding
Horse riding is permitted on several nominated fire trails within the Park. Click here for further information on riding opportunities within the Park.
A permit and gate key is required for all riding access, obtainable from the Derwent Office of the Parks and Wildlife Service (call 03 6233 6560). Permits may be obtained for either short term or long term access.
Four-wheel driving
