Permits are required for the collection and removal of all natural and cultural assets within the Park. This includes the taking of flora and fauna for research purposes.
Flora: Non-threatened
This covers plants not listed under the Threatened Species Protection Act 1995. Application forms are to be submitted to the Trust at least two weeks prior to commencement.
Flora: Threatened
Applicants should apply to the Threatened Species Unit (TSU) Department of Primary Industries and Water (DPIW), and specify the need for a permit within Wellington Park. TSU officers are authorised to sign permits for the collection of threatened flora within Wellington Park.
Fauna
All fauna is listed as protected under the Nature Conservation Act 2002, and thus collection of any fauna requires a permit from the Biodiversity Conservation Branch (BCB) within DPIW. BCB officers are authorised to sign permits for the collection of fauna within Wellington Park.
