The Bike Strategy 2005 is a result of the 5-year review of the Bike Strategy 2000, originally prepared in accordance with the Wellington Park Management Plan 1997. The Strategy provides a framework for the sustainable use of the Park by bike riders and outlines the requirements for educational and other awareness material to be developed by the Trust.

Glenorchy Mountain Bike Park

The GMBP is a collaborative development undertaken by the Trust, Glenorchy City Council, the Office of Sport and Recreation and the Glenorchy Mountain Bike Park Association Inc. to further develop bike riding opportunities within Wellington Park.

The GMBP, located behind Tolosa Park in Glenorchy, caters for all levels and types of mountain bike riding, and provides a state-of-the-art facility for local and interstate riders. The park successfully hosted a round of the National series in November 2005.
