The Design and Infrastructure Manual seeks to formulate a consistent approach to the placement of infrastructure within the Park, and lays out the principles which govern the design philosophy and style. The Manual attempts to incorporate the key values for which the Park is reserved, whilst also recognising the fact that the Park is a workplace for management agencies.
In some instances, the Manual is specific in terms of detailed design, however does not contain detailed specifications for all items. Further detailed design will occur either as new items of infrastructure are required or existing items require to be replaced. Where appropriate, the Manual seeks to pick up on existing infrastructure to minimise replacement issues. An example of a design sheet is shown here.
The Wellington Park Sign Manual forms a key part of the Manual with signs being the most visible and frequent elements of infrastructure in the Park. The Sign Strategy is currently being implemented by management agencies throughout the Park.
