As a prominent and accessible landscape, Wellington Park is highly valued by local communities. In addition to the Bushcare program, many other groups operate around the Park fringe and to the Derwent Estuary on projects that enhance the natural environment through participation.

There are plenty of opportunities to get involved with catchment care programs through organisations like the Derwent Estuary Program, the Newtown Rivulet Catchment Care Group or the North West Bay River Catchment Care Group.

Natural Resource Management Tasmania provides opportunities and support for community groups with environmental objectives.
